Andrew is a counsellor who specialises in working with men, new dads and young men. He lives on the Surf Coast and has always had a passion for adventure and learning. This has taken him to complete degrees in Education, Counselling and Sustainability, to work as a Teacher, Counsellor and Snowboarding Instructor, and to travel the world. Along the way he has established men’s groups, facilitated father-son programs and led groups of boys on outdoor education programs.
He has a Masters of Counselling, is a registered counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association and is trained in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health. He has worked with men, boys and dads for more than 5 years and is passionate about supporting Dads so that we can be better Fathers for our children.
Andrew’s style of counselling is based in Client-Centred Psychotherapy and utilises techniques from Mindfulness, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Positive Psychology and Somatic Experiencing. He prioritises the importance of a sound therapeutic relationship with his clients so they feel heard and have their preferences incorporated into their therapeutic process.
