    Calmbirth

    February 3, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Empowering couples to discover the joy of birth

Wednesday Evening Series: Series of 4 consecutive Wednesday evenings

Imagine a calm & joyful beginning to your baby’s life. The Calmbirth® philosophy is based on the belief that for most women, pregnancy, labor and birth is a normal and healthy life event. When a birthing couple embraces this they approach the birth of their baby with anticipation and joy.

Calmbirth® childbirth education teaches participants to identify the inner abilities (resources) we naturally possess to birth our babies calmly and more comfortably. Resources include: ‘The Relaxation Response”, a calmness of mind and body that we can all access with practice.

Calmbirth® workshops at The Birth House are facilitated by Kath Maxwell, a registered Calmbirth® practitioner who has been teaching Calmbirth® in Geelong since 2006. Kath is also a Registered Midwife with 18 years of midwifery experience.

For more information or to make a booking:
Contact Kath Maxwell on 0402 203 267 or kath@innerbirth.com.au for more information or to book a session.

Private Health Fund rebates are available through the funds listed on Kath’s Innerbirth website: www.innerbirth.com.au/cost_bookings.html

    Calmbirth

    February 6, 2021 @ 9:00 am - February 7, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

Kath Maxwell is a Registered Midwife who has been teaching Calmbirth in Geelong since 2006. Calmbirth workshops are offered at The Birth House throughout the year on Monday and Wednesday evenings 6-9pm x 4 sessions, or over a weekend workshop which runs once most months throughout the year.

For further information about dates, costs and booking in please go to www.innerbirth.com.au or contact Kath on 0402 203 267 or kath@innerbirth.com.au

Birth is an experience to be cherished, not feared. My aim for teaching Calmbirth is to reduce the anxiety that many women feel as they approach this amazing experience. Couples learn about how their body is designed to birth, the important relationship between beliefs and the impact these have on assisting or hindering the birth process. Releasing fears through relaxation sessions held in the classes as well as private work with CDs at home. Learning practical skills such as breathing, relaxation techniques, positions for birth, partners learn how to offer support. All within the supportive environment of small group workshops.

Calmbirth classes are suitable for : first time parents; mums/dads who have had a previous birth experience that left them feeling unsure or anxious about giving birth again; previous c/sections aiming for a natural birth.
